Sometimes I get overwhelmed by my surroundings. The amount of available information around us is fascinating and scary at the same time. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate all the possibilties it gives us, only sometimes it freezes me, leaving me lost, wondering what to grab or what to give my attention to.

So I have decided to give myself tasks with set boundaries. For this small project my goal was to design a top, using a fabric that has already been sitting in my stash. The chosen object of inspiration: Nakagin Capsule Tower.

The construction represents one of the few remaining examples of Japanese metabolism in Architecture. It consisted of 140 modules that were meant to be replaced every 25 years, just like cells renew in living organisms. Originally, the capsules were designed to serve as offices and accommodation for businessmen.

It’s planned for the tower to be demolished due to economical reasons.

Regardless of its todays state, the building still looks like a construstion out of a sci-fi universe.
